Rangers Thank the Penguins For A Beating and Go Home Empty Handed Yet Again.

First things first, the Penguins are a better hockey team than the Rangers. Anybody who watched at least one full game this series knows that that's a cold hard fact. With the way the Penguins were playing and the chemistry they display as a team,  I don't think the Rags win this series even if they play their best hockey. What I'm disappointed in, and everyone who loves this hockey team should be too, is the lack of passion they had throughout the series. It was like they didn't care that they were playing shitty hockey and just assumed that things would pan out and they would somehow win games. This team just gave me the sense all year that they felt they were entitled, which shouldn't be the case for any team let alone one that had come so close the previous two seasons. If our championship window isn't shut by now then it's merely slightly cracked, and in my eyes next year is our last realistic season with this core group of guys to actually make a run at this thing. With the way Lundqvist played this off season, it's clear that the burden of carrying this team deep into the playoffs year in and year out has begun to take a toll on him. With that being said, if the defensemen played even mediocre hockey this series Hank would've had a much smaller work load.

It's sad to watch a team with so much bottled up talent not realize their potential and essentially give up like I thought the Rangers did this series. Guys just didn't buy in to the process. They just thought things were going to be handed to them, which led to them playing lazy, sloppy, inconsistent hockey really all season. The Penguins beat the Rangers this series but not without some help from the Blueshirts themselves.
