Landis Sims, born with no hands or lower legs, signs minor league deal with Yanks

A nice feel good story to boost your Monday blues, and something different than Peyton Manning today. Landis Sims, 10, is from Indiana and is a life long Yankee fan.

Sims had CC Sabathia represent him when he signed the minor league deal today. He even took batting practice with Tex and A-Rod before today's matchup against the Astros. Sims plays little league baseball and uses a soccer shin guard to play defense, and has learned to use it so well he can pitch with it. When he hits, he uses a prosthetic that allows him to cup the bat to make a swing. If we're being honest, that swing looks pretty damn good. Nice shoulder and hip rotation going on for Landis, big time pop.

Overall, a classy move from the Yanks and a good motivator for the team. It's not everyday they have people with disabilities out on the field, so it's nice to see them doing that. HOPE week in the summer is another great thing that they do for the kids and hopefully this creates some good karma for the team going forward.
