Gmen lock up JPP for a 1 year deal

There you have it from the Schefty man himself. Kind of ironic he's the bearer of the news given that JPP is currently filing a lawsuit against him for tweeting his medical records. Guess he's just doing his job, which he does well he's just a squid.

Smart play by the Giants here who could be doing some MAJOR wheeling and dealing in the next few weeks before the draft. Everybody knows they have the 10th pick and need help on the defensive side of the ball. HOWEVER, Zeke Elliot is lurking on the draft board and a franchise running back is something the Giants need.

The signing of JPP gives them even more of a reason to go out and get Mario Williams with the cap space that they have. Adding those two guys back to your defensive line instantly upgrades the pass rush. Last season, JPP had to forego surgery that would have helped his hand and was doubled every snap. This year, he has a new and improved hand and could potentially see a partner in crime with him on the line. Williams and JPP would cause HAVOC for offensive lines and take a massive amount of pressure off of the secondary.

Granted the Giants still have a ton of holes to fill in their mediocre roster, bringing JPP back for another year simply makes sense. Victor Cruz will take his paycut and be back as Eli's go-to in the slot, and I trust Jerry Reese to make a good pick in the draft like he has in years past. Good news for Giants' fans today while the Eagles are melting into oblivion.
