No, I did not type that number in wrong. Bautista wants $30 million dollars until after his 40 year-old season is over. Selfish, selfish, selfish move by Bautista to demand that kind of money and say he is not willing to negotiate.
Toronto gave him a chance and he has been unbelievable for them and a leader on and off the field. This is not a good look for Jose, and as you can imagine most people are wondering what kind of franchise would give a player $30 million until they turn 40. I think they have all learned from the Yankees mistakes in that regard... But hey, if Toronto wants to throw him that money and screw themselves over to improve their team.. so be it.
