Kobe and Curry's Unforgettable Night

What a night! Kobe dropping 60 points in his final NBA game, along with the game winning shot giving the Lakers a 101-96 victory.  LA had a great pregame ceremony and video montage of highlights along with other athletes and celebrities showing their appreciation for Kobe.  Most of Kobe's ex-teammates were all present, along with Magic Johnson giving a great farewell speech.  Although it was a disappointing season for the Lakers finishing with less than 20 wins, it was a great way to end the season.  Kobe shot the ball 50 times going 22-50 from the floor, which is efficient.  He became the oldest player to ever score 60 points in a game.  People may look at this and say but he shot this many times, so what! when you have 60 points and shoot 44% from the floor, thats no joke!  During the final stretch Kobe went 5-5 and 4-4 from the free throw line to single handedly lead the Lakers to victory.   This was a great game for Kobe, and an even better one for the fans.  Kobe said in his postgame conference that, "you can't script this, this just doesn't happen."  It was an unbelievable night from everyones point of view.  As I was watching this game I was getting flashbacks from Jeter's last home game hitting a walk-off single in the 9th after the Yankees blew a three run lead in the top of the 9th.  Jeter sliced a single into right field hitting the game ending RBI single.  Kobe but the team on his back and delivered down the stretch getting a comeback victory in his final NBA game. Kobe is definitely riding off into the sunset after this one.

Curry and the Golden State Warriors finish their season at 73-9, the best regular season record in history surpassing the 72-10 record of the '95-'96 Bulls.  Not only did they accomplish something remarkable Steph Curry made his 400th and 402nd three pointer of the year.  No other player has passed 272 three pointers in one season.  Steph beat his own record of 286 that was set by him last season.  To put how unbelievable this record is in perspective this would be like someone hitting 91 Home Runs, throwing 81 TD passes, rushing for 31 TD's, and scoring 135 hockey goals all in one season.  Curry finished the game with 46 points hitting 10 three pointers.  He is also the only player to have 10+ threes four times in one season.  Warriors look to take this almost near unbreakable record of 73-9 to the Championship for back-to-back seasons.  They start this Saturday at 3:30 against the Rockets on ABC, the Warriors are given a 97% chance to win the series.
